Ready to get started?

Once you have enrolled we will go quiet for a while until it is time to start the next course. We will then send you your course log-in for the academy on the official online learning start date via email. If you don't get this email on the start date please email us ASAP to get this re-sent.

When you log in scroll to the bottom of the Wellbeing Academy main dashboard, where you will see the Worth-it Coach training course. You will see the course is now unlocked for you to make a start.

Once you progress through the course the resources, coaching log and support sections will unlock. This is to stop you from feeling overwhelmed or that you need to do everything all at the beginning. We have designed the course to enable your skills to build up gradually over time. You should be able to start using your coaching skills with young people after you have completed Module 2.

If you have accessed the Wellbeing Academy before you may have used different email addresses to access free resources. This means you may have multiple access accounts that might need to be merged. If you think you may have multiple log-ins please let us know which your preferred email address is for your course log-in.

Always remember to check the junk inbox as your course log-in comes from the academy email address and this may automatically go to junk.

Remember we are always here to help so just send us an email if you have any questions or get stuck.

Important course dates for your diary

The course is delivered online in two parts. Part 1 is 7 weeks and Part 2 is two weeks. The course blends short online videos, with reflective tasks, practical activities and  6x4-hour practical workshops hosted on zoom.

The next coach training course starts on the 22nd April 2024 with 2.5 hours of online learning to complete before the live workshops. All live workshops are hosted on Zoom on Tuesdays 10am-2pm (UK time).

Part 1 - workshop dates 30th April, 7th, 14th and 21st of May 2024.

Part 2 - workshop dates 18th and 25th June 2024

In between the workshops are 90 minutes worth of online learning, practical tasks and reflective practice. These are followed up with 2 x 2-hour online group support sessions, online reflective coaching logs, tutor feedback and a bonus  3-hour group coaching workshop.  The dates for these will be decided by the course participants and will happen after both Parts 1 and 2 have been delivered.

Once you have completed the 7 modules you'll also gain access to practical business development bonus workshops.

How long do I have to complete the course?

Once the course starts you will have 12 months to complete the course from the day it starts. For example if the course starts on the 22nd April 2024, you will have until the 21st April 2025 to complete the course.

To complete the course you must

  1. Achieve all the learning outcomes by watching the videos and completing reflective tasks
  2. Attend or catch up on recordings of the live practical workshops
  3. Complete a reflection on your learning from each practical session
  4. Attend the group coaching workshop
  5. Participate or caught up on the cohort support sessions
  6. Complete 20 hours of coaching with young people
  7. Select 5 examples of coaching sessions from these 20 hours to complete your coaching reflective logs which are assessed.
  8. Complete and upload your learning record to capture any additional learning you did and complete the necessary hours for the course accreditation.

How do I get my course certificates?

Once you have completed all the learning outcomes and had your coaching logs assessed and provided feedback, and your learning record reviewed and approved you will see two buttons appear which will allow you to download your certificates.

You will get two certificates

  1. Our Worth-it Wellbeing Academy Training Certificate
  2. The Association for Coaching AACT course accreditation

If the buttons don't appear you may need to go back through the online modules to make sure you have a purple tick for every learning outcome and the course progress bar is at 100%. Please let us know if you have any problems or want to check if you have missed a learning outcome. We are happy to help.

I've enrolled but what if I can't make the live sessions now?

The real value is in attending live and discussing your experiences working with young people and practising your coaching skills with peer trainee coaches on the course. Course participants find this a very integral and enjoyable part of the learning process.

If you are unable to join a workshop for whatever reason, you will be able to join the next cohort workshop, within your 12-month access and catch up on the session you missed.  Please let us know in advance so we can arrange this for you.

All sessions are recorded so if you have an emergency or are ill you can catch up with a recording so you don't miss out.

How do I access the live sessions that are part of the course?

Once the course has started you will be sent you module release emails each week. These will unlock the next module. There will be a small amount of prep work to do before each module, which may involve downloading some resources. The zoom link is the same for al the workshops that are part of the course and can be accessed from the module page for the practical live session.

How long will it take to complete the coach training course?

The complete course provides a total of 56 hours of training and 20 hours of further coaching practice is required to complete the course. As our course blends online learning, practical workshops, peer learning and requires you to complete 20 hours of practice coaching sessions with young people, we recommend the course will take 3-6 months to complete.  You have online access to the course for 12 months, just to give you that bit extra time to get all the coaching practice completed.

Once you have completed the course you will be able to download training certificates.

For more information about the modules and online learning can be found on the Worth-it Coach Training Course.

Practical Coaching Resources

One of the most important things about our coach training is that our course helps you learn how to use evidence-based and practical coaching tools and resources.  You'll gain access to over 30 of the tools and resources we provide on our course have been inspired by the coaching work we have done with young people over the last 12 years.

The course also provides a workshop on how to develop and run group coaching programmes using the tools and resources shared in the course. We have also included information and resources in the course about how to prepare for and start your coaching sessions, how to review the coaching process and end coaching sessions.  You will learn how to work with parents or partner agencies and organisations such as schools.

Once you have completed the initial training modules your resource toolkit will be unlocked and you will be able to start using our fantastic coaching resources with the young people you work with.

Course delegates value our simple but effective tools and resources that kickstart their abilities to confidently coach young people.

The tools that we have been given to work with have formed the basis of my coaching practice and I will continue to use them.

Sarah Orru - Stitches Academy

Sarah also went on to say..

"I now feel confident that I can take on clients and work with them in a productive and positive way. I felt able to ask lots of questions about professional practice and now understand how coaching should be undertaken properly. I feel that I am able to confidently start my own professional practice safe in the knowledge that I am asserting the right boundaries straight away and am putting in place the correct techniques to ensure the best outcomes for my clients but also for my own benefit as a competent practitioner."
