How our Resilience Coaching for Young People works

Our Resilience Coaching is a personalised service, in which each young person will set their own aims and objectives for their coaching. Each young person will learn to articulate their feelings and to appreciate the difference between stress, anxiety and anger. By taking part in the coaching sessions, each young person will grow in cofidence and work towards overcoming issues such as isolation, managing change and dealing with uncertainty, whilst also building positive peer relationships.

Over each young person's personalised programme, we recommend that they have between four and six coaching sessions. Although one-off sessions are also available. If working in schools or other organisations that work with young people, we are able to provide up to five one-hour coaching sessions per day.

What will the coaching cover?

  • Sessions are conducted in confidence virtually with a trained and non-judgemental young person’s coach
  • Develop self-awareness, confidence and communication skills essential for mental health
  • Support to find solutions that help young people manage challenges they face
  • Build skills and abilities that help with a range of issues effecting young people
  • Learn and practice a range of positive coping strategies that help young people to improve mental health and resilience

  • Develop different perspectives to find solutions in order to overcome challenges
  • Learn to ask for help and reduce the negative coping strategies that they have previously relied on (which can include avoiding school, self-harming or substance misuse)
  • Develop sustainable self-help strategies that can be used after the coaching sessions are completed

Underpinning Evidence
