Working in environments that support and educate children and young people can be very rewarding and exciting, yet demands high levels of skill, personal resources, and responsibility. The build-up of daily demands can cause teachers, TAs and support staff to feel pressurised, overwhelmed and unable to manage the demands of their roles. Rising stress levels can negatively impact their ability to cope with competing priorities and ultimately their emotional and mental health. This has an adverse effect not only on their work performance but also on the wellbeing of the children and young people they are working with.

Wellbeing Coaching

Available in packages of three, six or twelve days, our one-to-one wellbeing coaching provides expert support for staff to develop wellbeing, resilience and performance, and in so doing improve outcomes for children and young people. Our coaches are all qualified to postgraduate or masters level in coaching, and utilise a range of evidence-based coaching and positive psychology approaches proven to develop wellbeing and performance, and reduce stress.

Our coaching is a personalised service, in which each staff member will set their own aims and objectives for their coaching. We can provide up to six one-hour coaching sessions per day, and recommend that coachees have at least three coaching sessions over their personalised programme.

Email preparation and follow up support is provided for each session and participants will be provided with tailored resources and activities dependent on their needs, such as tools for self-reflection and action planning, and tips and self-help strategies for improving wellbeing, developing resilience and managing stress.

Our approach to staff wellbeing provides, what is known as in Occupational Psychology as, a secondary stress management intervention whereby the support provided helps staff change perceptions and reactions towards a range of stressors negatively impacting on their mental health. Through working with their coach they build a repertoire of resources to cope more effectively and reduce the negative experience of stressors.

Developmental coaching has been evidenced as one of the most effective ways to improve resilience and reduce stress. Our Wellbeing Coaching sessions integrate positive psychology with developmental coaching psychology to provide a robust evidence base proven to develop wellbeing. The coaching sessions provide resources for developing personal resilience and confidence, managing change and reducing stress levels. Our coaches draw upon an extensive range of coaching tools and strategies, from areas of practice including solution-focused coaching, cognitive behavioral techniques, strengths and wellbeing development.

Evidence demonstrates that coaching outcomes result in improved work performance and reduced stress and absence, and positively impact on the support, education, and outcomes of children and young people.
