The sudden changes in routine, role and responsibilities due to the onset of COVID-19 is having a huge impact on parents and their ability to support children and maintain their own wellbeing and be resilient. Parents are worried about how they can juggle supporting children at home, keeping on top of their children's education and maintaining work priorities. Maintaining parent's levels of wellbeing is a key strategy to get through this unprecedented time of change. To respond to this crisis we are able to provide Online Parent Coaching sessions. Our team of experienced wellbeing coaches and qualified teachers are here to help.

 

Helping parents build resilience and maintain wellbeing

Online Parent Coaching

Available as one-off sessions or in packages of three or six coaching sessions, our virtual parent coaching provides expert support to help parents maintain wellbeing. Coaching has been proven to improve resilience and reduce stress, both of which contribute to the improved wellbeing of children and young people even during challenging and uncertain times.

Our team are qualified and experienced, teachers and coaches. All are familiar with the struggles of juggling work and parenting, as even in the best of times this can be stressful and it is difficult to maintain wellbeing. Our coaches utilise a range of evidence-based coaching and positive psychology approaches proven to develop wellbeing and resilience, manage challenges and reduce stress.

Depending on your needs, you will be paired with the coach best placed to support you. For example, if you need support with home schooling, you will be paired with one of our coaches that are also qualified teachers. If you are feeling anxious or highly stressed, you will be paired with one of our coaches that is experienced in managing stress and mental health problems. Or if your child has special educational needs, you will be paired with one of our qualified and experienced SEN teachers and coaches to help support you and your family.

Coaching offers a non-judgmental and proactive support service, providing a listening ear that can support you to share problems and develop solutions. Provided through online video calling, we can provide up to six one-hour coaching sessions per parent. Although one-off sessions are available, we recommend that parents have at least three coaching sessions over their personalised online coaching programme.

Email preparation and follow up support is provided for each session and parents will be provided with tailored resources and activities dependent on their needs, such as tools for self-reflection and action planning, parenting strategies or home schooling support. Integral to our service are tips and self-help strategies to improving wellbeing, developing resilience and helping you manage stress.

Our approach to Parent Coaching provides an opportunity for you to share your problems and feel in control of your own solutions to support your family through difficult times. The support provided through online coaching helps you review perceptions and reactions towards a range of situations inside and outside the family negatively impacting on their ability to cope. These include dealing with change, managing challenges and uncertainty, children's behaviour, building effective relationships, dealing with 'cabin fever' and sharing family based self-help strategies for wellbeing.

Developmental coaching has been evidenced as one of the most effective ways to improve resilience and reduce stress. Our Online Parents Coaching sessions integrate positive psychology with developmental coaching psychology to provide a robust evidence base proven to develop wellbeing. The coaching sessions provide resources for developing personal and family resilience and confidence while managing change and reducing stress levels.

Our coaches draw upon an extensive range of coaching tools and strategies, from areas of practice including solution-focused coaching, cognitive behavioral techniques, strengths, parenting techniques and wellbeing development.

Evidence demonstrates that coaching outcomes result in improved family relationships and reduced parent stress and positively impacts on children's wellbeing.
