A complete digital toolkit enabling you to deliver our Wellbeing Ambassadors Workshop to train young people to be wellbeing leaders amongst their peers.

This toolkit has been developed from our proven peer support programmes, created with CAMHS, schools and local authorities nationally. The materials and support provided equip you to deliver an effective training session for young people, training them to be Wellbeing Ambassadors within their school or setting.

Our Wellbeing Ambassadors Workshop supports the prevention of mental health problems by developing wellbeing within the setting or school. In the workshop, Ambassadors will learn a range of approaches and strategies they can use to develop and lead peer support projects to reduce stigma, improve access to support, develop positive coping and reduce stress.

Our toolkit and package of support enables you to deliver the programme in your school or setting. We are here to help throughout the academic year as you deliver this project in your own school or setting. You will have access to up to 3 online group coaching sessions with other Wellbeing Ambasador Facilitators. This helps you understand how the programme works in other schools/settings and share ideas and effective practice.

Description

Our Wellbeing Ambassadors Workshop supports the prevention of mental health problems by developing wellbeing within the setting or school. In the workshop, Ambassadors will learn a range of approaches and strategies they can use to develop and lead peer support projects to reduce stigma, improve access to support, develop positive coping and reduce stress.

During the workshop your young people will:

  • Develop understanding of what wellbeing is and provide wellbeing support to peers
  • Understand and develop the interpersonal and communication skills required to be a supportive Wellbeing Ambassador
  • Gain skills to develop positive relationships essential for peer wellbeing programmes, including mentoring or running initiatives and campaigns
  • Discover practical ways to effectively manage stress in themselves and others.
  • Explore coping strategies and discover ways to cultivate positive coping for peers.
  • Develop ways to reduce mental health stigma in their setting.
  • Develop strategies to improve awareness and access to the support available in their setting for mental health and wellbeing.
  • Explore their role and responsibilities including safeguarding, ensuring the Wellbeing Ambassadors are aware of what they can do to effectively support the wellbeing of their peers and maintain their own levels of wellbeing.
